All fragrance balms in this collection are made with beeswax, shea butter, and a carrier oil, as well as vitamin E as an antioxidant.
HINAKO: THE BIRD'S LAMENT (safflower oil)
Fig, matcha, bitter orange, and ambrette lead into heady heart notes of poppy, lavender, heliotrope, and rose. Carnation adds a sharp, spicy note, and the softness of rice and milk ease into the earthy base of cedar, moss, patchouli, dark plum, and sandalwood.
FOX MASK: THE FOX'S WEDDING (sweet almond oil)
An intense and complex blend, opening with sage, orris root, cardamom, and peppercorn. The nearly overwhelming note of passionflower takes center stage, while sandalwood, papyrus, chestnut, and lavender weave throughout before blending into resinous, woody base notes.
SHU: AIBOU (safflower oil)
A burst of meaningful florals begins with cyclamen, freesia, heliotrope, and lotus blossom, eventually giving way to geranium, neroli, tulip, mimosa, and creamy sandalwood. Base notes of blond woods, vetiver, and white musk are given an extra push by a stroke of carnation at the finish.
AYAKAKASHI (rice bran oil)
Ethereal and grounded all at once, this blend begins with the simplicity of rice, paper, and stone. Rush grass, hay, ginseng, heliotrope, and lily follow in the heart notes, and earthier tones of musk, toasted sesame, aged wood, and tobacco leaf draw the scent to a close.
THE DARK SHRINE (rice bran oil)
A deep, heady scent. Myrrh essence is brightened by saffron and melon. The intoxicating core combines sandalwood, guaiacwood, hinoki cedar, olibanum, tobacco leaf, clove, and burnt embers; the blend then softens down into patchouli, dust, clay, amber musk, silk, and ancient woods.
EBISUGAOKA: VILLAGE OF PHANTOM FLOWERS (grapeseed oil)
Strange and lonely-feeling, this blend opens with juniper and bamboo dampened by a layer of dust. Hinoki cypress follows, mingling with hay and fermented fruit. Base notes of hay, cement, labdanum, mildew, and aging wood fade slowly, lingering in silence.
