Scents inspired by various romance novel tropes-- a little something for everyone.
Forbidden Romance: A scent so deep and luxurious that you aren't sure if you're really allowed to experience it for yourself. Whispers of citrus, incense, and spearmint lead into a heady core of smoked oud wood and florals, supported by a rich, lingering base of olibanum, myrrh, amber, vanilla, leather, and musk.
Office Romance: The scents of paper and a freshly washed business casual ensemble open this blend, followed by a burst of flowers - roses with cool, freshly-cut stems; magnolia, and violet - a bouquet purchased on a lunch break. Subtle woods and patchouli provide a soft, office-appropriate finish.
Fake Dating: What do you do when you're dating someone? Bury them in flowers, obviously-- surely no one can question the legitimacy of this arrangement. An over the top floral explosion: peony, iris, lily, magnolia, freesia, jasmine sambac, Grasse rose, marigold, mirabelle, cistus incanus, tuberose... and a base of orris root, musk, ambroxan, and olibanum for good measure. How's that for romance?
Soulmates: A sense of completeness and correctness, full of warmth and familiarity, a scent that envelopes like the embrace of a destined lover. Gentle almond milk and ambrette seed flow around berries and freesia, leading into heart notes of rich florals. Earthy tones of birch, ebony wood, oud, and sandalwood are softened by tonka, caramel, and lactones.
Sports Romance: Evoking glances stolen from the field to the stands, from the bleachers to the court, from across the locker room, or from the opposite side of the rink: Cut grass, linden blossom, vetiver, cherry pit, citrus, and prickly pear offer an outdoorsy opening, followed up by regal ivy, rose, neroli, anise, and a freshly opened can of tennis balls. At the base is assertive pine tar, smoothed over with patchouli and cedarwood.
Vampire Romance: An homage to the classically romantic vampire, replete with roses and wine. Dried fruits and red wine are the first temptation, followed by rich, deep tones of red roses, berries, stone fruit, immortelle, precious resins, and labdanum. A dark accord lurks beneath; dark plum and woods, benzoin, and vanilla, and the ease of nightbound seduction.
Holiday Romance: All the trappings are here: Fruits, brown sugar, a sensible amount of rum, and the warmth of butter in fresh pastries. Warm spices like nutmeg, clove, and cinnamon contribute to a cozy holiday atmosphere, enriched by cream and muguet. Creamy vanilla and tonka accented by patchouli and woods complete the blend-- the only thing missing is a convenient sprig of mistletoe.
Small Town Romance: You know the setup: the independent businesswoman returns to her hometown, desperately in need of some relaxation, only for a romance to blossom amidst all the nostalgia. A scent evoking a somewhat dated but ever-charming gift shop with candles and potpourri perfuming the air; mulled citrus, holly, pear, and grapefruit form the first impression, followed by fir needle, cinnamon, and soft florals. Earthy patchouli, sweet amber, and rich cedar leave a lingering sense of familiarity.
Each candle has a fill weight of 6 ounces. Made from a soy/paraffin wax blend.
